  1. I voted in VA this morning, and the turnout there today will be HUGE, judging by what I saw.

Usually, the wait to vote is never more than 5 minutes at my polling station. But I waited in line for almost 90 minutes after getting there at 8am, and the line behind me was longer than it was when I got there. It was quite encouraging that everyone took the wait in stride, with really good humor at being packed like sardines in five loops inside a tiny hallway.

The local official said that he had never seen anything like it in the 30 years he’d been doing it. And I’d say the majority of people were under 50, as well…

  2. Hey, nice job! Shortest election wait ever. At least at CNN, the task for the pundits was to NOT call it for Obama before the polls closed.

MD and DC look like they’re going the same way, but I’m looking forward to the actual call. I’m gun-shy on exit polls after NH and MA/NJ.

  3. I did my part in the global primary! Not a huge turnout here, but I think part of that was just due to not knowing about it. It was such a surprise to find out we were actually going to get counted! I had to sign a waiver stating that I wasn’t going to be voting in any primaries back in the US. I’m interested to see if/when/how the results will be released…
