Bouncetime for Bonzo.

Dubya jumps in the polls after Reagan’s photo-op funeral, and decides to celebrate by lying about Iraq and 9/11 all over again. C’mon, y’all Republican moralists out there…Where’s the outrage? Clinton was impeached for far less, and we already know the Baptists won’t put up much of a fuss.

  1. The bounce is only temporary. The bigger problem is how the RNC is going to spin Kerry’s really long voting record. That could really hurt the dems chances. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I become with the spin around our invasion of Iraq…and the more I wonder why it is that we are leaving the Saudis alone, when for some reason, the majority of recent terrorist attacks were planned or funded by Saudi nationals. If the Saudis can’t police their own people, then we should do it for them.

Bush lost my vote. Kerry still has to earn it.

  2. I still back the President. The UN said in ’98 that its inspectors found large amounts of WMD. The Security Council demanded Iraq explain what happened to them and Saddam chose not to cooperate…hence, Saddam was ousted. What’s all this about lying??

  3. Well, for starters, I don’t see the words “Al Qaeda” or “9/11” in your last summary, politica. As for the WMD, even Colin Powell has admitted that their non-existence transforms the whole lead-up to war, particularly the urgency which “forced” the Bushies to rush past the UN inspections.

  4. Using a UN report from 1998 to justify military action in 2003 is absurd. Why did Bush wait 3 years to enforce the UN mandate? Kevin has too much tact and class to say it, politica, but what you wrote amounts to a tempus non sequitor. And since you seem to know how to decline two neuter adjectives in the nominative plural (and I have to assume that the gender is neuter, since your handle makes no sense otherwise) I’ll assume you understand what I wrote.
