Bad form, I know, but this week’s Onion is particularly amusing. It Really Tide the Room Together.
Jeff Bridges joins the cast of Terry Gilliam’s next film after The Brothers Grimm, Tideland.
Grimm-Visaged War.
Argh. Terry’s Gilliam’s spate of studio trouble continues, with The Brothers Grimm getting pushed back a full year to November 2005. (Star Matt Damon suggests it may be due to FX.) It was already shaping up to be a particularly lousy fall film-wise, and this doesn’t help.
Tide Bandits.
Reports suggest Terry Gilliam’s next film (after The Brothers Grimm) will be Mitch Cullin’s Tideland. If the book blurb deeming it a “modern gothic version of Alice in Wonderland filled with ghosts, spirits, and magic” is correct, then it sounds like a great fit for Gilliam.
Queen for a Day.
Also in the movie department, several new Brothers Grimm pics make it online, and, although they’re all basically just costume shots, this project is looking increasingly Gilliam-esque.
Witch On, Switch Off.
A slew of new 2004 film pics online, including Monica Bellucci in The Brothers Grimm (ok, but we’ve seen this before), Will Smith in I, Robot (uh oh…they turned it into an actioner), Samuel Jackson in Country of My Skull, and Robin Williams in The Final Cut.
Visions to Come.
It’s been a quiet January as usual for fanboy and fangirls, and particularly in the wake of the Grey Havens last month. But lots of news out and about today: Terry Gilliam and James Cameron both discuss their next projects (The Brothers Grimm and Untitled Big Idea CGI Sci-Fi respectively), USA Today looks at a number of fantasy projects (including Lemony Snicket, Narnia, Elric, Artemis Fowl, and The Hobbit), and a longer trailer premieres for Frodo (and Charlie Kaufman’s) next project, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, also featuring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Tom Wilkinson, Kirsten Dunst, and Mark Ruffalo (previous trailer here.) Also, we’ve got a few more new Spidey II pics, some small Episode III tidbits, and The Ring‘s Martin Henderson possibly up for Superman. (Hmm…I hope not.)
