So that‘s why David Brent grooves so remarkably well…apparently, Ricky Gervais of The Office and Extras was in a New Wave band called Seona Dancing. I must say, he looks very Spandau Ballet…but at least he didn’t get stuck with the grotesque ’80s hair. (Via Quiddity.)

Get your agent on the phone…Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s Extras, their six-episode follow-up to The Office, gets picked up by HBO for broadcast Stateside. And there was much rejoicing (at least in these parts.)

Take that, Tim. You may well be Arthur Dent, but Ricky Gervais, The Office‘s co-creator and smarmy boss David, has been promoted to the cast of MI:3. No word on whether Finchy will come along for the ride. (As this post suggests, I’ve spent a goodly portion of the past two weeks catching up on both The Office and Freaks & Geeks…good stuff, that.)
