Jedis, Muggles, & Bats.

Coming Soon points the way to a number of 2005 tentpole pics, including this EW shot from Episode III, another from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and a smattering of new images from Batman Begins.

X3, III, & 3 Pulls.

Lots of fanboy trilogy news at ComingSoon today…Famke Janssen talks about the likelihood of Dark Phoenix in X3, word of a likely Episode III cameo breaks, and New Line announces it’ll shoot Books 2 and 3 of His Dark Materials back-to-back should the first one prove a hit. “New Line says the ‘Materials’ trilogy would soar far beyond the $350 million the studio spent on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.” It’s good to see New Line continuing to make big gambles on fantasy adaptations, but still…it sounds a bit like the guy who doubles his money on black in Vegas, then goes ahead and throws it all back on the table. Ah well, our gain, I suppose.

Quit while you’re a head.

Also up today, some highly spoilerish Episode III images (and a very naughty ESB-era Chewbacca.) Hey, Zaphod, if you’re not using that second head, can Chris Lee borrow it? Update: Elsewhere in Star Wars news, The Force.Net gets their hands on the forthcoming Ep. III Vanity Fair cover, with everyone from Jar Jar to Billy Dee Williams featured.

Heir to the Empire.

In case you couldn’t find it for some reason last week, the Episode III trailer is now officially available. And, if you’re looking for more SW news, Lucasfilm has also released the first film image of General Grievous, a.k.a. the new and goofily named Big Bad that was supposed to be voiced by Gary Oldman.

Downfall of the Republic.

“Lord Vader…rise.” My, how delightfully apropos. The teaser for Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which will appear in theaters before The Incredibles tomorrow, is now available for Hyperspace members, AOL users, and file-sharers (as well as on some overextended mirrors such as here.) All in all, it’s pretty well done, with a good deal of footage from the other films (particularly A New Hope), and some brief glimpses of the CGI & lightsaber carnage we’re all expecting. Update: Several more mirrors here. Update: It’s now officially available.
