It’s All Greek to Me.

The final trailer for Oliver Stone’s Alexander hits the web. I dunno…I like Stone’s movies more than most, but I’m getting a serious Moreau-vibe from Val Kilmer, and Angelina Jolie appears to be channeling Kate Beckinsale in Van Helsing.

  1. I don’t know about Angelina as Olympias, but Val as Philip II is pretty good casting/make-up. From what I’ve seen, the phalanx looks well composed, Porus is on his elephant, and Alexander is riding into battle.

While he weep when he learns that there are no more worlds to conquer? Will he kill Cleitus the Black, Kleisthenes, Parmenion, and Philotas? Will lesser folk– Ptolemaois, Antigonos and Kassandros (but more prominent figures during the “Funeral Games for Alexander) be portrayed as more significant figures than say Perdikkas, Krateros or Antipatros? Poor acting is one thing; Stonesque script errors are another…

See this one with the Hellenist you love…or in pinch, with one you don’t.
