    I’m always one to give a good filmmaker the benefit of the doubt, and Neil LaBute seems to deserve the same treatment. But given the fact that the original version of The Wicker Man is one of my all-time favorite films, and how put off I was by all the suggestions from the trailer that they’re not pagans but actual gosh-darned Satanists and how Ellen Burstyn seemed to be aping Christopher Lee’s delivery of his line, “You suspect … foul play?” No sir. I don’t like it.

    Grr. I hate unnecessary remakes.

    Now, Bryan Singer redoing Logan’s Run and having it be true to the original novel? I’m all over that.
