On Wrongs Swift Vengeance Waits.

The new trailer for V for Vendetta is now online. This premiered at BNAT 7 last week and got universally great reviews from the AICN fanboys, most of whom know their Moore…but, frankly, I’m not really feeling the “Matrix with knives” angle of this trailer, and John Hurt seems like he’s overdoing it.

  1. This particular trailer actually lets a little too much cat out of the bag. The movie is signifnicantly more interesting without some of knowledge given in this trailer.

Hurt’s part is significant but small, and again, the trailer’s empahsis points from him are really significant points in the movie in which he is at a point of anger.

As odd as it sounds, there are really only about three significant action sequences of consequence in the movie that involve V and the knives. It’s being emphasize in the trailer, of course, to make it seem more like an action flick, to draw fans of action. The action is great, of course, but the meat of the movie is the story. In some ways I wish the trailer could allude to that a little more. They have tried a little here, but by doing so they may have given some parts of the story away.

Still, it’s a great film. A fantastic film, really.
