Trailer Bin

Hungry Like the Wolf.

Another big teaser today: Benicio Del Toro struggles with an ancient curse in the first trailer for Joe Johnston’s remake of The Wolf Man, also with Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Geraldine Chaplin, and the inimitable Hugo Weaving. The February release date gives me pause, but this actually looks better than I expected.

  1. The trailer looks good. I can enjoy a movie like this on the art direction alone. Question: I love Benicio and he looks like a wolf already, but can he be convincing as a 19th-century Englishman? Wikipedia fun fact: Gene Simmons is doing the howl.

  2. I’m a little worried about Hopkins, tbh. His scenery-chewing mode can kill a film these days (and he basically already played this character in Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula.)

Also, the trailer doesn’t leave a lot of room for who the Original Wolfman might be in this story. (*cough* Zorro *cough*)
