Galactic Getaways.

“‘It feels like we’re living in the future, or science fiction is coming to life. We thought it would be really cool to explore the characteristics of each planet through the context of travel.'” As Kepler finds its 1,000th exoplanet, NASA celebrates by commissioning nifty vintage travel posters for faraway worlds. Either of the above might be good for a swing-through while folding space to Arrakis.

Diane, Meet Siri.

“‘I’m very excited to return to the strange and wonderful world of Twin Peaks…May the forest be with you.'” But how’s Annie? Official announcement is made that the well-preserved Kyle MacLachlan is back for Twin Peaks 2016. Damn fine news.

Which reminds me: I finally finished my Peaks re-viewing and, yeah, that back half of Season 2 — what with Confederate Ben Horne and Lana the temptress and James biking into cliches and all — is a little more ragged than I remembered as a sophomore in high school. Still, what an ending.

Update: Laura and Bobby are announce their return, and it sounds like Audrey Horne’s coming too.

I’m Bona Fide.

As most of y’all have probably already seen via the Facebook, my recent job transition got written up in CQ Weekly‘s “People On the Move” column. (The link is paywalled, so you’ll probably do better to read it here.)

This wasn’t my idea, and I’m not a big fan of the pic, but this came out ok, all in all (even if that one sentence/thought wasn’t meant to end at “cognizant.”) Thanks to Alex Gangitano and the good folks at CQ/Roll Call for taking the time.
