"Democrats who think it's going to be a cakewalk into the White House next November had best remember one name: Condoleezza Rice." Will John McCain pick Condi Rice as his running mate? A scarily plausible scenario.

This is a bit frightening, because just this morning I was wondering where the Rs have been hiding Condi lately.

Does Rice even have any credibility left with the public? I'd think her service in the Bush administration has undermined her reputation.

I don't know... she might play with Republicans, but I can say (as someone who is still genuinely an independent) that she would _really_ have to account for her abominable record as Secretary of State and NSA -- beyond "W made me do it" -- before I would consider her an asset to that ticket...

She personifies the qualifications a president or vice president should have. Who is it running currently that is better equipped? She was a Professor of political science at Stanford University; she served as the Soviet AND East European Affairs Advisor. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1970. In 1974, at age 19! ! ! Rice earned her B.A. in political science, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver. In 1975...SHE WAS ONLY 20!!!...she obtained her MASTERS DEGREE IN POLITICAL SCIENCE from the University of Notre Dame. She first worked in the State Department in 1977...AT ONLY 22! ! !...during the Carter administration, as an intern in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In 1981, AT THE AGE OF 26! ! !...she received her PH.D IN POLITICAL SCIENCE from the Graduate School of International Studies at Denver. Her dissertation centered on military policy and politics in Czechoslovakia. She went on to become a presidential advisor and then the secretary of state! ! ! As far as being the best qualified, good lord how could you be more qualified?????? Please explain to me now how being the wife of a former president throws even a shadow on what Condi has accomplished.
