Well, there may be 48-72 hours left in 2004 (good riddance -- I'll be remembering this year as pretty much a lamentable waste, orals and prospectus notwithstanding), but my twenties ended about an hour ago...and, y'know, I really wouldn't have minded if they'd lasted a mite longer. ;)

But, life marches on, so here's to 30. I'm back in NYC as of late this evening, and will probably celebrate by checking out one last wave of movies before the end-of-year round-up. So, see y'all on the flipside.

Welcome to the club, Kevin! Happy Bday!

Happy Birthday, Kevin! The three-oh isn't that bad. Watch out for clothes dryers from now on, though. Mine started to run hotter 'cause the waistbands in my pants started to shrink after I turned 30... :-)

Happy birthday, Kevin! As I recently told Matt, the thirties are great, and I'll bet you won't miss your twenties all that much once you start enjoying three-oh and beyond.

Do watch those waistbands, though ... :-)

Merry birthday, Kevin! The best, truly, is yet to come.

Word on the waistbands (thank God I'm not the only one who had he "dryer issue," as I will refer to it from now on--thanks, Hal)--but that's really the only downside I can think of. I'm a couple of years into my thirties, and they're pretty great (you know you're okay when even teenagers--i.e. my students--say with certainty, "Don't worry--thirty is the new twenty").

So congratulations on your big achievements of the last year, phooey to the crap of the last year, happy birthday, and happy new year. And thanks for all fo the great links and writing so far--here's to much more in '05.

Welcome to your thirties, Kevin. My ex-mother-in-law once told me that the thirties are the best years of your life. I didn't believe her, mostly because I was about 25 at the time. Still, I'm 33, and I've come to gleefully discover she may well have been right. Things can only get better.
Happy new year.
